High speed transfers in Mover 3.

Mover 3 contains a new engine named "Carbon Fiber" for data transfer between iPhones and iPod touches with new features. High speed transfers only work between devices with Mover 3 and later installed.

High speed transfers are, as the name implies, faster than the same transfers as done by previous versions of Mover. Additionally, high speed transfers are able to display transfer progress on an item's slide while the item is being downloaded, unlike regular Mover transfers. High speed transfers are available on both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Mover 3 still has the previous version's Wi-Fi engine, which allows it to receive and send to older versions of Mover. These transfers do not enjoy the same new features, but allow for backwards compatibility.

Attention: Mover 3 only supports high speed transfers over Bluetooth. It won't be able to connect to previous versions of Mover via Bluetooth.

To check whether you are using regular transfers or high speed transfers, look at the name of the other device on the edge of Mover 3's Wi-Fi table. If it's black, high speed transfers will be used. If it's gray, you'll need to update the other device before high speed transfers will be used.

The device name on the Mover 3 table is white while Bluetooth is on. Bluetooth transfers always use the Carbon Fiber engine.
