Accessibility in Mover 3.
Mover+ 3.0 includes preliminary accessibility support for iPhones with VoiceOver. This allows you to use Mover without having to look at the screen, by having the iPhone narrate you what's happening at any time.
Important: VoiceOver is only available on the iPhone 3GS.
The Mover table in 3.0 is fully accessible, and you can move your finger around it to read its contents. If you move your finger to the edges, VoiceOver will also tell you whether another device is connected and has its arrow on that side. You can also flick left or right to browse what's on the table at any time; Mover will list first all items, then all device arrows on the border, then toolbar buttons at the bottom.
The easiest way to use Mover with VoiceOver is to enable editing mode. During editing mode, buttons appear on the slides on the table that allow you to do stuff with them, including sending items, removing them or previewing them.
To enter editing mode:
- Select the Edit button, which is the second button from the left on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. (You can select items by moving your finger on the screen, or by flicking left or right to move to the next or previous item.)
- Double tap on the screen to activate it.
To do stuff with a slide on Mover's table:
- Find the slide with your finger on the table. While editing mode is enabled, slides are announced by VoiceOver as "Actions for 'this slide', button".
- Double tap to show a menu of actions for that item.
Sending an item:
You can drag an item off the edge of the screen if you can see it even while VoiceOver is turned on. To do so:
- Double tap and hold over the slide (that is, tap twice and keep the second tap on the screen) until you hear a tone.
- Drag the slide towards the edge of the screen to send it.
If dragging is problematic, or if the slides are overlaid and cannot be separated, you can send a slide using its action menu.
- Enter editing mode as specified above.
- Activate a slide's action menu.
- Choose Send, then double tap to activate it.
- Choose the device that will receive the item from the new menu, then double tap to send.
Please note: the Send menu item is not shown if there are no other devices on the network to send stuff to.
Removing a slide from the table:
You can remove a slide by selecting the Remove from Table or Delete action from its action menu.
If the item was saved in another application, like Photos or Contacts, the menu will contain the Remove from Table action, which will remove the slide from the table without asking. If the item isn't saved elsewhere, the menu will contain the Delete button and you will be asked to confirm your choice.
You can also remove all slides at the same time by shaking your iPhone while you're at the Mover table (that is, not looking at an item's contents or at Mover's settings). The iPhone will ask you whether you want to clear the table.
Note that items not saved elsewhere are removed without further confirmation if you confirm clearing the table. VoiceOver will remind you when asking.
