Applying for testing.
To apply for testing an iPhone applications by ∞labs, you need to supply the unique device identifier (UDID) of all iPhones and iPods that you want to use for testing.
To find out the UDID for your iPhone or iPod:
Connect it to your computer (Mac or PC).
Open iTunes.
In the source list at the left of the iTunes window, under Devices, click the row corresponding to your device.
In the Summary tab, click on the Serial Number label. This will reveal your device identifier.
Do not click on the serial number itself. Click on the "Serial Number" words in bold at the left of the serial number.
- To copy the device identifier to your clipboard, choose Edit > Copy from the menu.
Registration as a tester is a manual process. To register, send an e-mail to ∞labs support with the UDIDs you want to register with.
Installing Ad Hoc applications.
For each application you want to test, ∞labs will provide you with two items:
A provisioning file, which enables your phone to run ∞labs applications. This file's extension is
.mobileprovision.The application itself in a
.ipafile.
To install an application, drag both files onto your iTunes library. The application will appear in the Applications section of your iTunes library. After doing this, sync your iPhone to copy the application on it.
Provisioning files do not appear in iTunes. You can check whether your provisioning profile has been installed successfully by opening the Settings application on your iPhone after the sync, then choosing General > Profiles.
