Op-Ed Columnist – The Politics of Spite

The key point is that ever since the Reagan years, the Republican Party has been dominated by radicals — ideologues and/or apparatchiks who, at a fundamental level, do not accept anyone else’s right to govern.

Different reasons, same end effect here, too.

  1. Unfortunately, your “key point” no longer holds. The conservative element of the Republican Party completely fell apart during the final years of George W. Bush’s presidency. It’s obvious to me that the Republicans are largely responsible for the utter disaster that has befallen our country. The barbarians were at the gate, and the centurions simply walked off the job. That’s why I no longer send the Republicans any of my money.
