Plug-ins add features to existing applications; some special plug-ins add features to applications that weren't designed to allow plug-ins. Many such plug-ins exist, especially for Apple's Safari web browser, such as Inquisitor and SafariStand.
PlugSuit helps you manage these plug-ins and loads them for you in their intended applications.
Why PlugSuit when other plug-ins and plug-in managers already work without it?
PlugSuit strives to do more than just be a replica of existing plug-in managers with a nice preference pane over it. For example, from this version, compatible plug-ins can ask PlugSuit to check for their own updates, so that your plug-ins are always the latest and best versions out there. And you can control all of this with a single checkbox in PlugSuit's preferences, once and for all.
The download includes PlugSuit 1.5.4. Requires Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) or later. For more information, see the release notes for version 1.5.4.
See the developer docs for more information on how PlugSuit (mis-)treats your plug-ins and how you can enable PlugSuit-dependant features, such as update checks, in your plug-in (it's easy!).
